A NEW LEASE ON LIFE FOR THE EX-DOG POUND IN CALARASI

Tons of trash has been taken away, the corpses of the poor animals that had died and been thrown nearby have been removed, separating pens and a large fence that finally will block unauthorized access to the dog pound have been built: these are only some of the results achieved in the two months of intense work at the shelter. The work is supervised by the new Director, Aurelian Radulescu and seven people have been hired locally by STD. Our Veterinarian in Medgidia, Alina, has been going back and forth between Medgidia and Sufletel in order to monitor the animals from a medical health standpoint. Alina is also training a young female veterinary student, who we hope will gradually be able to take over the management of the facility.
Click here to see the photos taken during the month of April and to see what supplies we are still in need of. (In the photo: the shed that was demolished by STD and substituted with containers kindly donated by the company, Saint Gobain; below, a photo of the not-yet-equipped area where the new pens have been constructed.
