He has been spotted not far from our centre of Medgidia, a few hundreds of meters from the largest Gipsy shanty town of the city. The poor animal had a large wound on his back and was hungry. STD’s operators have brought him to our centre to provide initial cares: it was clear that the housing were so primitive to have caused deep injuries, by now infected. Even the bit, as shown in the photo below, was nothing but a rusty wire.
Because of these health problems the owners must have decided to abandon him to his fate.
After the first treatments the donkey has been transferred to the shelter in Cernavoda, where with the help of Donkey Sanctuary we will take care of him for the rest of his life.

Sono contenta che ci siano persone con un cuore grande di affetto e amore per queste creature di cui hanno il solo diritto di vivere come tutti gli esseri viventi a questo mondo. Nessuno ha il diritto di togliere la vita o di far soffrire, nessuno, animale o perone.

Pauvre petit Costel, comme il doit avoir souffert… Heureusement pour lui STD était là avec ses anges gardiens, merci, merci pour lui! Il aura enfin trouvé santé et amour au bout du chemin! Longue et belle vie à lui!
