DOG BEATEN TO DEATH WITH AN IRON BAR NEAR SLATINA

On January 25th in a locality near Slatina (in the municipal district of Ganeasa and the village of Dranovat), a man on his way home surprised his neighbor while he was in the act of beating the man’s small dog, holding her by the scruff of her neck. Unfortunately, despite the intervention of the dog’s owner, nothing could be done to save the poor animal. The owner contacted the association Prieteni Nostri in Slatina and, together with Gratiela Ristea, filed a report with the police, bringing along the body of the dog to the ASL for an official medical exam and report. STD strongly asks the authorities to pursue this case and demonstrate that the law regarding animal cruelty approved one year ago is applied without exceptions based on social class. This is the umpteenth episode of free and senseless brutality perpetrated against a harmless animal living in a neighbor’s courtyard. The person responsible for this gruesome episode is a man of high social economic standing and the fear is that he will not be prosecuted for his crime because of his position. Dario, the puppy rescued in Constanza last November, has arrived a few days ago in Italy and he is now temporarily hosted by Enpa Monza. A family of STD supporters is going to adopt him. Here the pictures while he arrives at Malpensa airport and meets Marina (his future mom) in Monza.

Thanks to a timely intervention, the poor quadruped avoided to get chilled. A few days ago the romenian channels Pro TV and Antenna 3 had appealed for a donkey abandoned in Constanza, hanging about shivered with cold in the vicinity of some blocks of flats. Abandoned by her master most likely because he was unable to mantain her, the she-ass would have starved and freezed to death soon if STD hadn’t intervene, taking her with its own van. The romanian TV broadcasted the rescue. The donkey is now in the stable destined to the quarantine, on the area owned by the Association in Cernavoda. To see the photo sequence click here.
DOGSADOPTIONS NL DONATES 30 DOG HOUSES TO CALARASI SHELTER

Dutch organisation Dogsadoptions , which runs an adoption program for Romanian dogs coming from our shelters and from Prieteni Nostri (Slatina), has donated 30 heat dog houses to Calarasi shelter.
