Despite the economic growth of the last few years, Romania is still a very poor country with significant social inequality. Unfortunately, the people touched by the problem of stray dogs and cats are those belonging to the neediest segment of population: usually they are those living below the poverty threshold. In some cases, middle class families risk putting their already unstable family balance in danger because of their sensitivity to the strays that surround them and resolve to help these animals.
We have decided to give a some of these people, spread out among Bucharest, Cernavoda, Medgidia and Calarasi, a hand by not only continuing to provide free veterinary assistance but also by guaranteeing a supply of food for their dogs and cats. Often times the animals live inside these peoples’ homes or in their yards, but in other cases they roam the streets but are looked out for by their “protectors”. With a donation of 25 euros per month (paid in full or in instalments depending on your financial situation) we are able to purchase about 2 sacks of cat food and 3 sacks of dog food.
Help us bring hope to these people who have opened their hearts to these stray animals in need of help.Deposit your donation of 25 euros per month (paid in full or in instalments depending on your financial situation) into Save the Dogs’ current account.

NOTE: when you long distance adopt one of our pets, we’re asking you to give us an e-mail address in order to be able to contact you. This way we could send you a picture of the friend you adopted and the updates on his health state. This would save us postal charges and it’s also an easier and quicker way to contact you.
Thanks everyone for the cooperation!
