Claudio, Ioan, Sile and Boss, saved from the abandonment, negligence and starvation, have now a home and a chance to interact with their new friends at Don Orione Center in Bucharest.
Sile is eight years old and used to live with a farmer that recently couldn’t look after him due to extreme poverty. It was the farmer that handed over Sile to Save the Dogs knowing that the volunteers would help the animal to recover as he couldn’t afford it anymore. Despite being skin and bone, Sile didn’t have health problems neither seemed to have being abused. He is very calm and stable and he willingly accepted the attention of the children.
Ioan is ten years old, he’s got brown coat and a funny white fringe. Our friend went through a very particular story. In fact Ioan has been used to carry tourists round at Costanza Dolphinarium and at the end of his career he was brought up to Save the Dogs. When he arrived he was undernourished and with no life left in his eyes. Ioan now is a very happy donkey and even happier when he is surrounded by children who can’t wait to ride him in a more sensible way.
Boss is the youngest of all, he is five years old but despite his age he has suffered enough throughout his life. As often happens, we found Boss abandoned with other six donkeys near the shelter. We soon understood that Boss was the leader of the group that followed him to the centre, hence his name “Boss”. Boss is a wise and trusted donkey like no other and he is very appreciated by the guests of Don Orione Center, especially the elderly ones.
Claudio is thirteen years old, red and brown coat and he was found abandoned next to our donkey shelter in Cernavoda. At the time he was very skinny and we realized from his scars that he had being beaten. Claudio is a quiet and calm donkey who needs a special relationship with humans. From the first day he showed to be very patient and appreciated the presence of children.
