On the 17th of June the Medgidia team went to Costanza, in an industrial zone, where some people put together a type of refuge.
Alina and her staff sterilized in one day 16 females, 15 of which were dogs and one cat.
Unfortunately the deficiency in funds and in dedicated people, does not permit to use the clinic for more than one day per week, despite the great necessity for the situation in villages like Costanza, where hundreds of strays are slaughtered by the authorities every month.
Whoever wants to contribute to the sterilization carried out through our camper (mobile unit), can make a donation stating reason for payment: clinica mobile through our account or with a credit card.
Last week the mobile clinic went back to the private shelter managed by Neli, the Calarasi lady that snatched about fifty dogs from the jaws of death and whom STD is trying to give assistance to, in addition to the adoptions in Holland and Italy. Unfortunately, the lack of water and the inaccessibility of the place made the operations very difficult for STD. Still, the team managed to neuter a few dogs and to administer some treatments. The sudden arrival of a bee swarm spread panic among our staff (including Ylenia and Selena from the office in Milan), who were forced to move the camper van in a great hurry and look for an alternative location.
In these pictures, the work of the mobile clinic in Calarasi, a city where stray dogs continue being caught and killed in a barbaric way by local authorities.
