We have found him just before Christmas on the streets of Cernavoda, close to a former factory, closed in the present. Tyson was all skin and bones, had flees and had been abandoned by his previous owner who probably had also kept the dog on chains. Surprisingly so, Tyson is extremely friendly with people around him, and with other dogs too. Sadly he is suffering from respiratory infection and has been admitted into one of the cliques owned by the “Save the Dogs”, with little hopes of recovery. (more…)
The time has come for a change in the “Save The Dogs” community in Romania and the first important change in 2013 is affecting the CEO.
From the middle of January, this post will be taken by a person from Italy. Filippo Agostino is originally from Torino, he is 34 years old and is a prize winner in International Studies and Diplomacy. Filippo has worked in the past for an extended non-profit organization in Italy; the activity of this organization targeted the minors. (more…)
It is official: Cernavoda and Medgidia will be the first towns in Romania where a local dog registration program will be launched thanks to the partnership with “Save the Dogs”. At our proposal last month both city counsels approved the launching of a registration program of the dogs with owners, by the use of a microchip, which will be free of charge for these animals.
This registration will be made by a team, formed by a veterinary of STD, a clerk and a policeman. This team will pay a visit to all the owners. In the first year of the program there is expected the identification and registration of 2000 dogs in each of these towns. (more…)
