The collaboration with the Swedish association Dog Rescue began in March 2010, at the initiative of a group of volunteers coming out of Hundhjälpen, who decided to form a new organization.
Dog Rescue too has the search for adoptive families for the dogs in our shelters (especially those in Medgidia) as its first aim, but the group is also very proactive in running awareness campaigns on the situation of stray dogs in Romania.

Our partnership with the Swedish association goes back to 2005, when the explosive situation at the shelter in Cernavoda offered only two options: find foreign families to adopt the large-sized dogs or put the “excess” dogs to sleep (something that obviously goes against STD’s principles) to avoid fights among them and epidemics. The meeting with the volunteers of Hundhjalpen saved us from a real drama: we will never be able to thank the Association enough for the constancy, seriousness and reliability it has demonstrated during these years.
