“At the dog pound in Constanta a dog neutered by your association is being held”…these were the words the woman at the other end of the line told us. “The tag from the dog’s ear is for sure from Save the Dogs”. The lady – being certain that in that place, which is more like a concentration camp, she found a dog which used to be in our care – decided to save the animal and brought the dog to Medgidia, on her own expense. ROSIE, ON THE RUN FROM THE CHAIN

Rosie is one of the thousands of dogs in Romania who live their lives tied to a chain, destined to have a difficult life that offers nothing outside of endless boredom.

We don’t know if this lovely animal managed to free herself on her own, or if her owner gave her up, but one thing was certain: instead of a collar Rosie had a wire around her neck.

ANIA, A TOUCHING STORY

As our supporters well know, our main activity at the veterinary centers of Save the Dogs in Romania is neutering stray dogs and cats. Because of the great number of local abandonment, the healthy animals, capable of surviving on the streets, are released after spending a short time at our shelters.
