ROSIE, ON THE RUN FROM THE CHAIN

Rosie is one of the thousands of dogs in Romania who live their lives tied to a chain, destined to have a difficult life that offers nothing outside of endless boredom.

We don’t know if this lovely animal managed to free herself on her own, or if her owner gave her up, but one thing was certain: instead of a collar Rosie had a wire around her neck.

THE LONG CONVALESCENCE OF TYSON

Do you remember Tyson, the mastiff abandoned on the streets of Cernavoda, before Christmas? Sick, undernourished, he arrived to our centre in a poor condition after being abandoned by an uncaring owner. (more…)

This time the victim of the abuse was not a homeless dog, but one that was living in a monastery in Tulcea County. The dog was attacked by a shower of darts blown from a pipe that injured him rather severely on the snout (as you can see on the picture below). The nuns, who were already familiar with our work and have known about the centre of Save the Dogs in Medgidia, took the injured animal there, where it was taken into the care of our staff.. (more…)

We have found him just before Christmas on the streets of Cernavoda, close to a former factory, closed in the present. Tyson was all skin and bones, had flees and had been abandoned by his previous owner who probably had also kept the dog on chains. Surprisingly so, Tyson is extremely friendly with people around him, and with other dogs too. Sadly he is suffering from respiratory infection and has been admitted into one of the cliques owned by the “Save the Dogs”, with little hopes of recovery. (more…)
