Sam wakes up every morning next to Nico, his human companion.
Together they face the daily struggles of life on the street.
Ever since Nico lost both his job and his home, Sam has been the one constant in his life – his family.
But even the deepest bond needs support if you are living on the streets.
When food, care and a safe shelter are missing, it’s only thanks to people like you that we can step in.

Since 2021, our Street Unit has been providing practical assistance to animals like Sam and his human companion who are living in precarious conditions in Milan.
Every week we distribute essential goods such as food and parasite treatments, providing free veterinary care, as well as micro-chipping and sterilization programs.
But as the coldest season of the year approaches, we need to do even more!

Since the project began, we have cared for over 350 animals and 236 people.

Save the Dogs and other Animals Foundation works to combat stray animal overpopulation and improve the quality of life for owned dogs and cats, particularly in socially disadvantaged contexts. Founded in 2002, Save the Dogs has been operating in Romania for over 20 years, where the issue of stray animals remains a serious social problem.
Since 2019, it has also been active in Southern Italy with a free spay/neuter program in collaboration with local associations and veterinarians. And since 2021, it has launched the first assistance program for the dogs of homeless people in the city of Milan.
