<\/strong>particularly in major cities across Italy and Europe.<\/p>\n We are not talking about individuals who are exploiting animals to seek charity from passersby, but about people who, for a variety of reasons, have found themselves without a job and family connections and who now find solace in the one stable relationship in their lives<\/strong>, the one they share with their key areas of the city to identify homeless individuals living with their pets, with the goal of meeting their needs and building a relationship of trust.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>They carry special kits<\/strong> with them that include essential items for the dogs of the homeless<\/strong>, such as winter coats<\/strong> and<\/strong> flea treatments <\/strong>during the<\/strong> summer<\/strong> months<\/strong>, as well as dog bowls, leashes, food supplies, and first aid supplies.<\/p>\n The main goal of this project is to ensure that these animals receive veterinary care<\/strong>, including vaccinations and sterilization<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and the Veterinary Service of the Health Protection Agency.<\/p>\n In cases where more serious health issues arise, the program provides more advanced medical care<\/strong> through affiliations with partner clinics.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”2_5″ groundwork to secure the resources necessary to expand the project<\/strong>, aiming to include not only homeless people but also other individuals with pets who are struggling financially<\/strong>.<\/p>\n For this reason, further growth and expansion of our activities is planned for 2024, not only increasing the number of Street Unit outings, but also establishing a fixed service point<\/strong> for people who, despite having a roof over their heads, are struggling to cover the costs of caring for their animals.<\/p>\n The first phase of this expansion will be carried out in collaboration with the Municipality 2<\/strong> area of Milan, where there are many people experiencing hardship. Our Save the Dogs<\/em> operators will have the task of monitoring the main areas of the city where Progetto Arca is already operative, so that we can understand the needs of the homeless people living on the streets with their four-legged friends and begin to create a relationship of trust.<\/p>\n The aim of the project is to provide these animals with veterinary care, ensuring they are given any necessary vaccinations, sterilizing the females and conducting any complex treatments that may be required in the event of serious health concerns.
