\u200bWith the increase in poverty, the number of homeless people sharing their lives with one or more pets has grown exponentially<\/strong> in all major Italian and European cities. In Milan, there are over 2,000 people experiencing homelessness, and at least one hundred of them live with a dog.<\/p>\n We would like to emphasize that the beneficiaries<\/strong> of Save the Dogs<\/em>\u2019 project are not those who exploit animals to encourage the generosity of passersby, often managed by real rackets, but people who are going through a difficult period in their lives, perhaps after losing their job and their family support network. In addition, we provide animals with what they need most: food, harnesses, leashes, bowls, muzzles, and coats.<\/p>\n Project beneficiaries<\/strong> receive a card to access the Street Unit\u2019s Our Save the Dogs<\/em> operators will have the task of monitoring the main areas of the city where Progetto Arca is already operative, so that we can understand the needs of the homeless people living on the streets with their four-legged friends and begin to create a relationship of trust.<\/p>\n The aim of the project is to provide these animals with veterinary care, ensuring they are given any necessary vaccinations, sterilizing the females and conducting any complex treatments that may be required in the event of serious health concerns.
