Marisya, a 14-year-old cat, fled from the war in Ukraine in the arms of her owner Lidyia. After a long and difficult journey into Romania, Marisya’s voyage with her mistress came to an abrupt end.<\/p>\n

Because of the current boarding regulations of low cost airlines, pets are not allowed to travel in the cabin with their owners who are fleeing the war!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to Save the Dogs<\/em>\u2019 intervention, Marisya did not have to be abandoned at the airport. We were able to welcome her at our shelter in Cernavoda and promised we would subsequently restore her to her owner in Germany. And thankfully we managed to do just this.<\/p>\n

After a few days at our shelter, Marisya was driven to Germany by some of our staff members who were also dropping off a number of dogs that had been adopted. Marisya and Lidyia were finally able to be together again! This is the second time that such a reunion has been made possible thanks to Save the Dogs’<\/em> efforts<\/strong> at the border and at Bucharest airport, helping people flee the war with their pets.<\/p>\n

If Save the Dogs<\/em> had not stepped in to help, Lidyia would have had no choice but to part with her cat forever. We know that many people are unfortunately finding themselves in this same situation due to the boarding rules of low cost airlines.<\/p>\n

On 12 March Save the Dogs<\/em>, together with seven other Romanian organizations, launched an international appeal to the low cost airlines, asking them to amend their transportation and boarding regulations<\/strong>, in order that animals and pets arriving from Ukraine may be taken on board with their owners, with the only criteria being the safety and comfort of both the individuals and their pets during the flight, rather than adherence to the standard company policy.<\/p>\n

Following the launch of the appeal at an international level, Save the Dogs<\/em> has decided to ask people living in Italy to help apply further pressure by likewise demanding an amendment of Ryanair, Wizzair and Easyjet<\/strong>\u2019s boarding regulations.<\/p>\n

Marisya, una gatta di 14 anni, \u00e8 scappata dalla guerra portata in braccio alla sua padrona Lidyia. Dopo una lunga fuga per arrivare in Romania, il viaggio di Marisya insieme alla sua padrona si \u00e8 bruscamente interrotto.<\/p>

Per le regole di imbarco delle compagnie aeree Low Cost, gli animali da compagnia non possono viaggiare in cabina con i loro padroni in fuga dalla guerra! <\/strong><\/p>

Marisya \u00e8 anziana e nonostante fosse al sicuro al nostro rifugio era spaventata <\/em><\/p>

Dopo alcuni giorni al nostro rifugio, Marisya \u00e8 stata portata in Germania dal nostro staff in coincidenza della partenza di alcuni dei nostri ospiti destinati all\u2019adozione. Marisya e Lidyia sono finalmente insieme! Il loro \u00e8 il secondo ricongiungimento realizzato grazie al lavoro di Save the Dogs<\/em> <\/strong>alla frontiera e all\u2019aeroporto di Bucarest in aiuto alle persone in fuga con i propri animali.<\/p>

Senza l\u2019aiuto di\u00a0Save the Dogs<\/em>, Lidyia non avrebbe avuto altra scelta se non quella di separarsi per sempre dalla sua gatta. Sappiamo che tante persone si stanno purtroppo ritrovando nella stessa situazione a causa delle regole di imbarco delle compagnie Low Cost.\"\"<\/p>

Per questo il 12 marzo\u00a0<\/em>Save the Dogs<\/em>, insieme a 7 organizzazioni romene, ha lanciato un appello internazionale alle compagnie aeree Low Cost per chiedere di modificare le condizioni di trasporto e di imbarco<\/strong>, in modo che gli animali in arrivo dall'Ucraina possano essere imbarcati con i loro proprietari avendo come unico criterio la sicurezza delle persone e degli animali durante il volo e non la consueta politica della compagnia.<\/p>

A seguito dell\u2019appello internazionale,\u00a0Save the Dogs<\/em>\u00a0ha deciso di lanciare un\u2019azione in Italia per fare ulteriore pressione per chiedere la modifica delle condizioni di imbarco a\u00a0Ryanair, Wizzair\u00a0<\/strong>e\u00a0Easyjet.<\/strong><\/p>
