We discovered Amelia<\/strong> in a village in rural Romania, where poverty is still prevalent and dogs are often kept chained up for their entire lives. She was tied to a chain under the scorching sun, all skin and bones and visibly exhausted. At her side lay her newborn puppies. They were already infested by parasites, and had no shelter or proper care.<\/p>\n We stepped in immediately and brought her food and water, but Amelia was in such poor condition that we quickly understood that we had to remove her from there. It was the only hope for survival for both the mother and her puppies.<\/p>\n From that day on, Amelia was granted a fresh start in life.<\/strong> While still chained up, Amelia met an Italian couple who had been following our work for some time and who had traveled all the way to Romania to meet her. They bonded with her and decided to wait for her recovery while she also cared for her puppies.
