A BRAND NEW CLINIC FOR THE OASI ARGO SANCTUARY IN CROTONE

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we can make dreams come true and build a new medical facility at Caterina Semerano’s ‘Oasi Argo’ shelter!

The Oasi Argo shelter at Cirò Marina, which is in the region of Crotone, welcomes over 230 dogs and is managed by Caterina Semerano, who is tirelessly dedicated to the shelter and to the lives of the dogs she saves on a daily basis and for whom she strives to find an adoptive family. This new structure will be fundamental in taking care of even the frailest animals rescued from the streets.

The new medical center will be equipped with an outpatient room, separate inpatient areas and cages that do not rust like the previous ones did, along with other facilities which will enable her to welcome and treat many more injured and abandoned animals directly on site. The numbers of animals she will be able to assist will be much, much greater than before you stepped in with your help.

The clinic will be a reliable, specialized and secure location which will allow for the rehabilitation of thousands of abandoned animals.

Work is scheduled to begin in April.

WHY THIS CLINIC IS SO IMPORTANT

Thanks to the new medical facility:

  • it will be possible to sterilize animals directly on the premises;
  • we will be able to hospitalize and administer treatments to the many injured and sick stray dogs that arrive at the Oasis, which currently does not have adequate space to accommodate them;
  • in the future, we will be able to establish agreements with the local municipalities, and save countless dogs from being cast into lager kennels in the area.

1.054 NAMES WILL BE ENGRAVED

ON THE WALLS OF THE NEW CLINIC!

1.054 people have responded to our appeal and it is thanks to their generosity that we are able to make this dream come true!

For this reason, every one of these names will be forever written on the walls of the clinic, as a sign of our eternal gratitude.

Together with the many friends and supporters of Save the Dogs we have taken the first steps in creating a network of truly made to measure ‘dog friendly’ shelters, capable of providing specialized treatments, sterilization programs and overall well-being to a vast number of abandoned and abused animals!

THE NON UNO DI TROPPO (‘TOO MANY PUPPIES’) PROGRAM

The construction of the new medical facility at the Oasi Argo shelter is the first initiative by Save the Dogs in Southern Italy to empower local animal shelters, and aims to help improve actions to combat stray dogs, which is the primary objective of the ‘Non Uno di Troppo’ (Too Many Puppies’) program first launched in 2019.
