Elisabetta Canalis recently joined veterinarians and volunteers from our Friends on the Streets project which provides free veterinary care, food, and support for animals belonging to homeless individuals and low-income families in Milan.

Having been involved in one of the first interventions in 2023, when the project was just starting, Elisabetta once again returned to the streets with our volunteers and vets, reaffirming her commitment for those in need and her appreciation for our initiative.

Today, Friends on the Streets has grown into a well-established, organized program. Each week, we cover various neighborhoods across the city, setting up designated meeting points where we welcome people with pets and offer ongoing assistance. By issuing personalized identification cards for the animals, we can record their details in a clinical management system, which then allows us to monitor their health over time and maintain thorough, up-to-date records.

What makes this project truly remarkable, however, goes beyond mere healthcare, as it based on listening and providing a continuous presence. Each intervention is an opportunity to connect with the deep relationships between people and their pets.

Every month, Friends on the Streets ensures that dozens of animals receive the care and necessary supplies they need, including medication, vaccinations, anti-parasitic treatments, food, and practical assistance. Above all, the project preserves the bond between animals and their human companions, often their only source of love and affection.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Elisabetta for her continued support and for bringing much-needed attention to this cause. However, to meet the growing demand, we also need your help.

Every day, more people visit our meeting points, hoping to receive help for their four-legged companions. With your contribution, we can reach even more animals, hear more stories, and change more lives.
