Momentum continues to build for our free micro-chipping campaign in Rogliano

Following the excellent turnout at our first Microchip Day back in June, our work in the area has continued to flourish. On 26 October, we held the second free of charge micro-chipping event of 2025 in Rogliano, as part of our Too Many Puppies initiative.

Once again, local residents in the community responded enthusiastically. Thanks to the tireless work of our local partner, Amici Animali FEF, who carry out weekly door-to-door visits to households in neighboring towns every week, we have now micro-chipped a total of 87 dogs during the course of the year.

This is a significant achievement in an area where many dogs are still unregistered and therefore do not have an official identity, leaving them at risk of abandonment or going missing.

October’s Microchip Day demonstrated how important these gatherings are for building trust, sharing information and making a simple yet decisive action accessible to everyone by implanting a tiny micro-chip, no bigger than a grain of rice, and connecting each dog to their human companion through the national registry. The procedure is quick, painless and compulsory by law — but more importantly, it is a crucial tool in preventing stray overpopulation and protecting thousands of animals in the region.

Our partnership with the Municipality of Rogliano and the Amici Animali FEF association continues to be a successful example of effective, coordinated action. Public micro-chipping days complement door-to-door outreach, helping us reach people who cannot easily travel or who may not yet be fully aware of how essential it is to register their pet.

Moving forward in this way means not only offering a valuable service to the community, but also promoting long-term cultural change in the way animals are cared for and also protected.
