Speranza is reunited with her owner
A heart-warming tale from the AccogliAMO project
Speranza (Hope)
When her owner needed surgery and had to be hospitalized, young pup Speranza (whose name means ‘hope’ in Italian), adopted from Spain many years ago, was faced with the prospect of being left alone. Thankfully, through our AccogliAMO project, which offers temporary foster care, a kind volunteer named Veronica stepped in and welcomed Speranza into her home for a month.
Though it was tough to separate, especially after their years of companionship, Anna was able to rest easy knowing that Speranza was in safe hands and was being well looked after. During this time, a strong friendship also blossomed between Anna and Veronica, who have promised to stay in touch and continue to visit one another even outside the project. Thanks to this experience, Speranza now has another person who loves her, and Anna has gained a reliable source of support.
The AccogliAMO project provides vital help for pet owners who, due to unforeseen circumstances, cannot rely on family or a support network but still wish to ensure their animals receive proper care. We cover all costs, including food, medical care, and other essentials, while also offering ongoing assistance to those providing temporary care.
This initiative is made possible due to the Dr. Fulvia Anelli Fund, created in memory of a woman who devoted her life to animals and who believed in the importance of protecting every loving relationship, regardless of the social background.
As we mark the second anniversary of her passing this April, stories like this one remind us of the power of solidarity and trust.
It is surely not a coincidence that the dog is aptly named Hope…
