Legacy giving: some values deserve to live on
The choices we make say a great deal about us: how we have chosen to live, what we have devoted their time and attention to, and the causes we have chosen to support throughout our lives.

For Fiorella, this choice grew naturally out of a long-standing commitment to Save the Dogs. Over the years, she has been a supporter and volunteer, and more recently became Treasurer of the Foundation. Animals have always been an important part of her life and a constant presence throughout its different stages. For her, leaving a gift in her will was therefore a natural continuation of that commitment: a way to continue contributing to something she believes in, now and into the future.
But leaving a gift in your will can have a different and deeply personal meaning for each and every one of us. It can support the projects we want to see grow, help protect animals for years to come and, in some cases, provide peace of mind about the future of the animals who share our lives.

My name is Fiorella Ferrandino, and I would like to tell you why I have decided to leave a gift in my will to the Save the Dogs Foundation. My love for animals has been a constant throughout my life. I cannot remember a time when animals were not part of it, whether they were my own pets or simply animals I took care of in shelters, courtyards, or on the streets around my home.
A demanding career, raising a family, and everything else I have built over the years have never changed how I felt. So it is only natural that my commitment to animals should continue into the future by way of making a bequest. I chose the Save the Dogs Foundation because I believe deeply in its philosophy and admire the dedication and determination with which it has protected animals over the past 23 years.
I was first a supporter, then a long-standing volunteer, and today I am a member of the Board of Directors. I have decided that I want to continue being part of Save the Dogs even when I am no longer here. But there is also another, very personal reason behind my decision: my two cats, Briciola and Birilla.
Through my legacy gift, I know that the Save the Dogs Foundation will care for my pets and make sure they will never be alone, even after I am gone. For me, leaving a gift in my will to the Save the Dogs Foundation is a way of continuing to protect animals, and continuing to love them long into the future.
Making a will is an opportunity to decide, thoughtfully and deliberately, what will happen to everything we have built over the course of our lives. Remembering Save the Dogs in your will means allowing the values that have guided you throughout your life to live on for generations to come.
