Update June 7

The National Veterinary Authority of Romania has replied to our petition (which in the meantime has exceeded 70,000 signatures).

The checks made following our complaint and those of other citizens and associations have proven that everything is all right: Green Life Recycling of Ovidiu operates in accordance with the Romanian laws and therefore there are no reasons to close down the facility. Both the captures and the live conditions in the kennel “(…) respect the welfare requirements of the animals”.

We consider this a shameful response and an obvious sign that the Romanian veterinary authorities are not guarantors of the application of the laws but of interests that have nothing to do with the Rule of Law.

The last hope at this point is that the Court of Auditors may consider the contract between Cernavoda and Green Life illegal.
